For some reason that continues to elude all rational reasoning, companies here in Austin think its okay to offer the same amount of hourly wage that Starbucks pays. The most spellbinding thing is that this whole "8 to 10 dollar an hour" phenomenon has NOT CHANGED in the six years I've lived here. While rents have increased on average by $150-$200 a month in the same time period. GRAPHIC DESIGNERS, ARTISTS, ILLUSTRATORS, and RECENT GRADS: PLEASE do not apply for and/or accept jobs at these rates.
